Pakistan And Saudi
Pakistan Saudi Arabia Defense Deal: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a new defense deal. It states that an attack on either country will be considered an attack on both countries. It has been named the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement. This agreement was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Sharif was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Crown Prince.
The agreement comes shortly after an Israeli airstrike targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The US has described the attack as unilateral and incompatible with US or Israeli interests in the region. It has also raised security concerns in the Gulf region, which has long relied on US security.
The main objective of this agreement is to strengthen defense cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as to enhance joint efforts to deter any form of aggression. The Saudi Press Agency issued an official statement stating that any aggression against either country will be considered an act of aggression against both.
This new defense agreement comes just months after a military operation between Pakistan and India. Operation Sindoor was carried out by the Indian Army in response to a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people. After four days of fighting, the two countries agreed to end the fighting, and the Pakistani Army contacted the Indian Army to achieve this.
Meanwhile, Israel recently attempted to assassinate Hamas political leaders in Doha, killing six people. Qatar condemned the attack, calling it state terrorism. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the airstrike was a completely independent Israeli operation.
